Holiday in Germany today - so I had plenty of time to work on the homepage. Always a "tough" time after Götzis to put all the results, updated PBs and pictures online - but I think I'm done now.
Actually in the future you can also find my blog at the Decathlon 2000 homepage (link above), where I will try and write about what's going on a little more often than right now.
Now I've got to hurry a little as there is a totally unimportant soccer match coming up, but I promised some friends to watch it with them.

After updating the page the last time I was really hoping to find the time to work on it more often.
As you may have noticed this has not been the case - lab work and some other stuff has taken up most of my time. But now that May has come and the next outdoor season is starting I promise to update frequently - so that you can always find the latest news here
Just 4 weeks to go to Götzis by the way; as usually I have been looking forward to that weekend for about a year (since last time). Also our tickets ave arrived - for the first time (since introduction of the new ticket system) we will be sitting on the stands, not somewhere around the track.

So after almost 5 months I'm finally back with Decathlon-Fans.
As the Indoor World Championships are coming up in a couple of weeks I introduced a heptathlon section, where you can find some statistics, championships results and score calculations.
Also soon you will be able to reach us under a new address: www.decathlonfans.de - no more strange pop-ups that disrupt your visit to our website..
The 2010 calendar is also online and will be further expanded in the next few days.

Some minor changes to the homepage, as there is really nothing else new to talk about. The season is over except for some smaller competitions, so the long time waiting until next May begins. It was definitely a great year, especially the World Championships in Berlin of course, even though some athletes could not start there due to injury or were not quite in shape. We had a good time anyway :)
This will also be the last update for a couple of weeks, because I'm leaving on Sunday for a holiday in Canada :) Still have to enjoy the last months of studying until job life begins.

Well - the last big competition of the season is over. The results from Talence are actually not that bad - close race in the end between Kasyanov (8291), Pahapill (8255) and Pappas (8189). Maybe the scores are not that high (at least a PB for Pahapill), but at least the 1500m race made quite a change to the result (intermediate after 9 events: Pappas - Pogorelov - Pahapill - Kasyanov). Actually I would like most decathlon competitions to be like that, sometimes it can be quite boring knowing the winner already after 9 disciplines.

After more than two weeks absence from the homepage I'm back now - at least for a week ;) I passed my exam, did some celebrating and enjoy a couple of days with little to do now.
The Talence decathlon is of course on the way this weekend. Though some top names are missing, it's still a great starter field there..
The results after day 1 are, as you might expect, a little behind those of Berlin for example - I'll give you a short overview: 1. Kasyanov (4405) - 2. Pappas (4267) - 3. Pogorelov (4196)

Nothing new from the decathlon world right now actually. About two weeks till the last big meeting of the season in Talence - but I didn't find any entry lists online yet..
I'm really busy at the moment anyway trying to study out of a 1600 pages book. There are just too many molecules and proteins in the world..
Today I "tuned" our picture galleries. Now you can click forward between pictures, not always going back to the index page. Great ;)

Almost another week has passed and I'm back in Freiburg now. I have to get some work done and do some serious studying.. Though it will also be nice to see my friends here again :)
I was kind of scared yesterday because suddenly my notebook would not start or do anything - fortunately that's over and it's working
I'm just uploading some of the pictures we took during the week in Berlin and then it's time for bed. Great football day today by the way (Pizarro = "Fußballgott" :))

I'm back from Berlin now.. Had a great time in the stadium (especially during the decathlon of course..)
The atmosphere was simply great - just amazing. Of course the German athletes got most cheering, but everyone got their applause. Just sad that it's almost over
I put the decathlon results + updated athletes portraits online now. In the next days I will also try and collect some reports and of course share our photos from the competitions

This will probably be the last update before the World Championships start. The provisional entry lists have been published - so I added athletes' portraits for all participants
We are leaving on Saturday (birthday :)) for Berlin. I'm really looking forward to getting a distraction from studying and working right now..
Hope everyone will have a great time (at least the weather's going to be really good - probably even a little too warm).

After spending a week in Bremen (mainly to watch the Bremen soccer team practice 3 times :)) I'm back now with some updates
First of all I've been trying to collect as many information on participants for Berlin - no real surprises so far (see link on the left)
Finished reading half of my big red book now - "just" 800 pages to go. I'll be really glad as soon as September is over

And now it's almost time to say goodbye to July
I can't really say why I did so little for the page - but I was pretty much busy starting to read "Molecular Biology of the Cell" (I hate that book) and getting some work done
But I promise there'll be more info soon on Berlin and the World Championships - just about 3 weeks to go now :)
I suppose you've all heard the bad news about Schrader not competing by now. Seems to be quite a bad year for the German decathletes with three drop outs due to injury (already)
Right now I just added some results from July (Junior Championships, Universiade) and some minor stuff

Welcome to July :)
The exam is over (successfully passed :)) - so I finally had the time to update the homepage - including results from the latest events and news
There is more to come in the next couple of days / weeks - some new portraits for example.
